Webinars & Events – Dropout Prevention & Student Engagement Summit Highlights Video

On February 18, 2011 the Colorado Department of Education and ScholarCentric hosted a local event for nearly 200 Colorado educators. The day's events started with inspiring speeches from CDE's Judy Martinez, Director of the Office of Dropout Prevention and Student Engagement, ScholarCentric's Steve Weigler, President, as well as keynote speaker, Bill Milliken, author of The Last Dropout.

A multitude of morning and afternoon workshops offered educators an opportunity to engage with likeminded colleagues, to understand existing practices, and to embrace new strategies for re-engaging at-risk students. Woven into the event, an Education Reform Roundtable allowed participants to discuss relevant issues with state and federal experts, a Resource Fair provided an opportunity for organizations to showcase services available to schools and districts, and lastly, an Authors Perspective allowed nationally recognized authors the opportunity to share their insight relating to at-risk populations and dropout prevention solutions.
