Webinars & Events – Strengthening Black Male Achievement Symposium Video

On October 21, 2011 an impressive group of educators from around the country gathered in Indianapolis to discuss their experiences, challenges, and strategies for strengthening black male achievement. A keynote address by Dr. Rod Paige, former U.S. Secretary of Education, inspired the audience by framing the issue with a strong call-to-action. "This is a new civil rights issue. We want our kids to achieve their potential, which we know is great."

Following Dr. Paige's remarks, Dr. Ivory A. Toldson, Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the Howard University School of Education, shared his insight gained from data about the factors that impact black male achievement.

Panel Speakers:
Marcus Robinson, CEO of EdPower and former Principal of Charles A. Tindley Accelerated Academy (IN)
Dr. Eugene T.W. Sanders, CEO, The Transformation Group, LLC, and former CEO of Cleveland (OH) Metropolitan School District
Antwan Wilson, Associate Superintendent, Denver (CO) Public Schools

We encourage you to invite colleagues to view the Symposium recording with you to gain valuable insight into how your district can address the critical issue of black male achievement.
