Success Highways:
Dropout prevention that is scientifically developed and proven effective.

Developed by a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee researcher, Success Highways has undergone rigorous testing over its seven years of piloting in two large urban high schools in the United States, as well as one high school in Italy. The research below pertains to the pilot program conducted in South Division High School, Milwaukee.

ScholarCentric asked Dr. Alan Davis, Associate Professor, Research and Evaluation Methodology at the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado, to review this research and ensure that it meets the NCLB standards of scientific evidence of program effectiveness and his letter, stating his findings, can be downloaded here.

"Before we implemented Success Highways, our school had an immense problem with absenteeism and this is much less of an issue today. This program has made a major contribution to the culture of our school and to me as a teacher.  I think other schools would also find this program effective in helping kids feel connected to their school and hopeful about their future."
